RABOTEC and Asanko Gold Ghana Sign US$400 Million, Four-Year Mining Services Partnership.
RABOTEC Group has signed a four-year mining services engagement valued at US$400 million with Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, extending a partnership at the Asanko Gold Mine that has run for more than 11 years.
The agreement marks a new phase in the relationship between the two companies. It reflects RABOTEC’s consistent record at the mine on safety, execution and reliability, and a shared commitment to keeping more of the value created by mining within Ghana.
Jobs and local capacity
Under the agreement, Asanko expects to support approximately 3,000 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect jobs, while widening local participation across its supply chain.
Speaking at the signing, Dr. Charles Amoah, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, described the agreement as a deliberate business decision in support of Ghana’s Local Content agenda. He said the focus is on creating jobs, building skills, and strengthening Ghanaian businesses to operate at the scale and standard the industry requires. He added that RABOTEC’s performance over more than a decade gives Asanko confidence that local companies can deliver at that level.
Built on delivery
RABOTEC Group CEO, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim, said the signing formalises a partnership built on years of delivery, discipline and proven capability. He traced the company’s journey from smaller scopes of work to large-scale mining services, shaping RABOTEC into “a company capable of operating at the level this industry demands.”
He noted that the partnership is also about people, creating employment and building skills that allow individuals to grow within the industry and sustain their livelihoods. Alhaji Ibrahim highlighted that RABOTEC has spent over US$8 million with local suppliers in the past two years and maintains a fully Ghanaian workforce, a foundation the new agreement will build on to expand employment, deepen skills development and increase community impact.
Impact beyond the mine
Both companies expect the agreement to strengthen operational efficiency at the Asanko Gold Mine and to drive wider economic activity in host communities through enterprise growth and sustained local investment.
